While many Americans watched the latest episodes of racism and violence erupt last month and tried to make sense of what they saw, heard and felt, a sculptress-in-residence and her group of Phoenix (AZ) middle-school students had already taken a hands-on approach in their attempt to understand the roots of these persistent problems.
Their unique six-week-long, artistic project entitled, FACE TOLERANCE™. part of the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ 2006-2007Cultural Connections Through the Arts Program , began just weeks before the Don Imus firing and the Virginia Tech madness ....
